Bruins coach Claude Julien today said it would be a matter of days rather than a week before center Chris Kelly’s return to the Boston lineup.
Kelly, who has been out since he broke his tibia March 11 in Ottawa, skated with the team Thursday for the first time since the injury.
Center Patrice Bergeron, however, is out with no timetable for his return with a “moderate” concussion. Julien said he recently spoke with Bergeron, who suffered the concussion Tuesday night.
“He sounded positive and sounded good,” Julien said. “Again, you never know with those things, you really never know because we’ve said that before and guys have taken a step back, some guys have progressed quicker than others. It’s really a tough thing to predict, as far as how long and is he getting that much better. He could have a set back tomorrow, we don’t know.”
