The Bruins made several announcements Tuesday afternoon well after their hour-long practice at Ristuccia Arena concluded.
Most notable was the decision to send Jordan Caron to Providence (AHL).
Caron was on the Bruins’ power play in the loss at Carolina Saturday and had been playing better of late. But with the expected arrival of Carl Soderberg and the return to health of Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand, the Bruins decided to stick with just 15 available forwards and send Caron back to the farm club. This might give the P-Bruins a boost when they begin the playoffs April 26.
The Bruins also made two schedule-related announcements, by saying that Wednesday night’s game against Buffalo at TD Garden will go on as scheduled at 7:30 p.m. And Monday night’s postponed game against Ottawa has been rescheduled for Sunday April 28 at 7 p.m.
As I mentioned, the Bruins had a long practice and coach Claude Julien acknowledged that the team practiced with “heavy hearts” because of the tragedy at the Boston Marathon Monday. Julien and several players reacted to the events and also to what the future holds.
