Bruins forward Brad Marchand will not travel with the team to Columbus for their game against the Blue Jackets on Friday, according to coach Claude Julien.
Marchand missed the Bruins’ last game against St. Louis on Tuesday with an undisclosed injury. He practiced Thursday at TD Garden, but then Julien revealed the no-travel news.
“He’s doing better,” Juien said. “He’s day-to-day.”
Marchand missed most of the third period of the win against Carolina last Saturday and then took one shift during the morning skate Tuesday before disappearing down the tunnel. The Bruins’ next game after they visit Columbus is at home against Montreal on Saturday.
Julien said that defenseman Dougie Hamilton, who missed practice Wednesday with the flu, should be all right to face the Blue Jackets.
