It’ll be old news in about an hour, Bruins coach Claude Julien confirmed Saturday that defenseman Dougie Hamilton was available when he didn’t play for the last 9:49 of regulation or in overtime Friday.

The Bruins still beat the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-3, in a shootout, despite playing with five defensemen most of the game.

In a pregame availability before the Bruins’ game against Montreal at TD Garden on Saturday evening, Julien was asked if Hamilton was OK.

“Yeah,” Julien said.

When asked for any reason Hamilton missed that much playing time, Julien got his dander up.

“Because I didn’t play him. Figure it out, Matt. He didn’t play the last 10 minutes, he was OK. All right?”

Hamilton, who missed practice Wednesday because of the flu but practiced on Thursday, will be back in the lineup against the Canadiens. After all, the Bruins only have six defensemen.
