Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli had news to share on two injured centers Wednesday.
Patrice Bergeron, who left Tuesday night’s win against Ottawa in the second period, is out with a moderate concussion. Chris Kelly, who’s trying to return from a broken tibia, will be back “soon.”

Redden
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said Wednesday that when the New York Rangers bought out Wade Redden’s contract in January, there were exploratory talks about the defenseman coming to Boston.
Instead Redden, who played for Ottawa during Chiarelli’s tenure as an assistant GM there, signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the St. Louis Blues.

It was another roller-coaster afternoon and evening for the 2013 Bruins Tuesday, which started with the trade for Jaromir Jagr.
By the end of the night the Bruins rode a 45-save effort by Anton Khudobin to a 3-2 win against Ottawa at TD Garden, and finished the game without the services of Patrice Bergeron.

Chiarelli
With the Boston Bruins ranked 12th in the NHL in goals per game entering action Tuesday night, and having scored two or fewer goals in six of its past seven games, general manager Peter Chiarelli did not halt his pursuit of offensive help after he was spurned by Jarome Iginla last week.
Boy how times have changed.
When the Bruins came out of the 2004-05 lockout and missed out on Mike Modano and Peter Forsberg in free agency, they turned around and signed Alexei Zhamnov.

MacDermid
Depending on the type of career Lane MacDermid winds up having in the NHL, at least he’ll always be able to tell his kids he was once traded for future Hall-of-Famer Jaromir Jagr.

Regehr
Teams continued to get out in front of the NHL trade deadline that awaits on Wednesday with a couple big deals involving top-four defenseman Monday night.
Both Jay Bouwmeester and Robyn Regehr were on the move.

It took the Bruins more than 40 minutes to wake up and support the yeoman efforts of goaltender Anton Khudobin Sunday night.
When David Krejci and his linemates finally came to life, the center recorded a goal and an assist and the Bruins had a 2-0 win that pulled them back within one point of Montreal for first place in the Northeast Division.
The tweets come in by the dozen every day.
Bruins fans constantly want to know about the odds of their team coming up with a trade for either Calgary’s Jay Bouwmeester or Phoenix’s Keith Yandle. It seems the hunt for a puck-moving defenseman never ends, and with the trade deadline coming up Wednesday it only figures to heat up.

It was the type of afternoon that made you wonder if the Bruins had eaten too many cheesesteaks.
Instead of going out and proving to general manager Peter Chiarelli and all observers that they’re a better team than Jarome Iginla thinks, the Bruins lost to Philadelphia 3-1 in a fashion that made everyone think maybe they need more than just the former Flames forward in order to make a run this season.
You don’t have to live within the Bay State to cook up some ridiculous ideas for Bruins trade rumors as the April 3 trade deadline approaches in the NHL.
As far as Edmonton, people are throwing crazy ideas at the wall for general manager Peter Chiarelli to either consider or laugh about.

It was a wild ride Wednesday waiting for official word to come down that the Bruins had acquired Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames.
After all TSN reported it, so it had to be true.

Chiarelli
By now you know that Jarome Iginla decided to join a Pittsburgh team that won its 14th in a row Thursday night rather than a Bruins team that thinks a third-period lead is a cause to close up shop.
Maybe recent game results had an impact on Iginla’s decision or maybe it was the chance to hang with Sidney Crosby or maybe the allure of pierogies was just too strong to avoid.
Well, the Bruins made their case to Jarome Iginla Wednesday night.
They scored five goals and nearly beat the Montreal Canadiens in a game that the former Calgary forward could’ve made a difference. The Bruins lost, 6-5, in a shootout at TD Garden.
