Bruins Finn-ish their draft with goaltender Volden in 6th round
The Bruins new they wanted to add at least one goaltender at this year’s draft, and they used their last pick to select one from the Finnish Junior League.
The Bruins in the sixth round of today’s NHL Entry Draft in St. Paul, Minn., selected goaltender Lars Volden with the 181st pick overall.
Volden, who’ll turn 19 in a month, had a .907 save percentage and 2.76 goals-against average in 24 games for the Blues Jr. club last season. He’s a native of Norway, but I’m sure he’s picked up enough Finnish to chat with Tuukka Rask this training camp.
He stands at 6-foot-3, 198 pounds. He once made this save:
