About last night: Krejci lights up 3rd, Khudobin shuts down Sabres

David Krejci/By S. Bradley

David Krejci/By S. Bradley

It took the Bruins more than 40 minutes to wake up and support the yeoman efforts of goaltender Anton Khudobin Sunday night.

When David Krejci and his linemates finally came to life, the center recorded a goal and an assist and the Bruins had a 2-0 win that pulled them back within one point of Montreal for first place in the Northeast Division.

’11-12 Bruins Season in Review: Anton Khudobin

Khudobin

The only thing we know for certain about Anton Khudobin and the 2012-13 season is that he’s due to make eight times as much money as he did last season, regardless of where he’s playing in North America.

Khudobin has a one-way contract for next season at $800,000. Now will he be cashing his checks in Boston, Providence or some other locale? Well, that remains to be seen.

Bruins 3, Ottawa 1: Khu beat the Senators? Khudobin

Khudobin

There’s seemingly no limit to the goaltending depth in the Bruins’ organization.

Bruins morning skate: Krug debuts, Turco starts, Caron sick

Krug debuts for the Bruins tonight.

BOSTON — As expected, Tim Thomas will not start tonight against Pittsburgh at TD Garden.

Khudobin coming aboard to see NHL shots with Bruins

Khudobin

Although Tuukka Rask seems to be progressing well in his attempt to return from a severe abdominal/groin injury he suffered early last month, the Bruins still need to make sure they have a backup goaltender with some experience for when the playoffs start in nine days.

So today they recalled Anton Khudobin from Providence of the American Hockey League. Khudobin was recovering from his own injury when Rask went down, which led to the brief recall of Michael Hutchinson and the subsequent signing of veteran Marty Turco. Turco is not eligible to play in the postseason.

Khudobin, around 10 others to stick around for Bruins depth

Khudobin

While goaltender Anton Khudobin will be the only one joining the parent club for practices during the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, he will be among around 10 “Black Aces” the Bruins will have at their disposal over the course of the series with Montreal.
