Before departing Montreal for Winnipeg and a game with the Jets Friday night, Bruins head coach Claude Julien reported today that Rich Peverley has returned to Boston to have his knee evaluated.
Peverley was injured four minutes into the third period of Boston’s 4-3 shootout win over the Canadiens when he was hit by defenseman Hal Gill while crossing his own blue line with the puck. It’s doubtful Peverley would be able to rejoin the Bruins for the Jets game.

Classifying Brad Marchand’s clip of Vancouver’s Sami Salo as “a predatory low hit,” NHL disciplinarian this evening suspended the Bruins forward for five games.
Marchand was previously assessed a five-minute major for clipping and a game misconduct Saturday in the second period of Boston’s loss to the Canucks.

In a sign they’re concerned that Gregory Campbell and Daniel Paille won’t be able to play against Los Angeles tomorrow night, the Bruins tonight recalled forward Zach Hamill from the Providence (AHL) farm club on an emergency basis.
Campbell missed practice today with a foot injury he suffered Saturday night in Columbus. Paille practiced today for the first time since he suffered a mild concussion last week, but still has to pass some tests to get game clearance.
