Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli continued to lock up members of his 2011-12 club by re-signing two key centers Monday, according to a Tweet from TSN reporter Bob McKenzie.
Chris Kelly (four years, $12 million) and Gregory Campbell (three years, $4.8 million) have re-signed with the club less than a month before they were scheduled to become unrestricted free agents.

It took the Bruins several years (with no offense to Stephane Yelle and Steve Begin) to find a reliable fourth-line center that could do all the things they wanted.
For two straight seasons, Gregory Campbell has fit that bill – killing penalties, taking care of his own end, and making sure the majority of fourth-line shifts are spent in the opposing team’s zone. Ironically, Campbell has played his role so well he probably has priced himself out of Boston, especially if the Bruins re-sign Chris Kelly.

BOSTON — Regardless of whether Daniel Paille is cleared to play tonight, Bruins head coach Claude Julien is leaning toward using Zach Hamill to fill in for Gregory Campbell as the team’s fourth center tonight against Los Angeles as the TD Garden.
So the team’s energy line will have a different look either way.
