Chiarelli updates on Corvo, other Bruins UFAs

For the most part, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli does not want to comment on negotiations with would-be free agents.

So today while announcing new contracts for Daniel Paille and Chris Bourque, he didn’t offer updates on unrestricted free agents Chris Kelly or Gregory Campbell, or restricted free agent Tuukka Rask.

’11-12 Bruins Season in Review: Joe Corvo

The dreaded “Curse of the Puck-Moving Defenseman” struck the Bruins again this season, as Joe Corvo didn’t live up to expectations and became a favorite whipping boy of the discerning fan base.

Thankfully, Corvo was never treated to a barrage of boos like some of his predecessors, but some of the criticisms of him were unfair, and some were quite warranted.

Washington 4, Bruins 3: Pouliot’s slashing penalty & Bergeron’s status

BOSTON – If Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals was the Bruins’ last home game of the 2011-12 season, Benoit Pouliot certainly soured it.

Seconds after turning over the puck to Washington center Nicklas Backstrom, Pouliot slashed Backstrom twice in an attempt to recover the puck. The ensuing power play led to Troy Brouwer’s game-winning goal with just 1:27 remaining in regulation.

Bruins morning skate: Seidenberg out, Julien defends Corvo

BOSTON — After six games as a scratch, Joe Corvo will get a chance to return to the Bruins’ lineup tonight against the Washington Capitals at the TD Garden, head coach Claude Julien confirmed after his team’s morning skate.

Corvo backtracks on Turris talk prior to Bruins-Senators

BOSTON — Yesterday Joe Corvo flat-out threatened Kyle Turris with revenge for the hit the Senators forward doled out Saturday night in the third period in Ottawa.

After obviously getting scolded by his organization and having some time to think about what he said, Corvo today defused the notion he was going to target Turris tonight when the Bruins host the Senators in a rematch at the TD Garden.

Sens’ Turris can expect payback from Bruins’ Corvo

WILMINGTON, Mass. — The NHL didn’t hand down any discipline to Ottawa forward Kyle Turris for his hit to the head of Boston’s Joe Corvo Saturday night.

Fortunately for Corvo, he gets a chance at doling out his own discipline just three nights later.
