NEWARK, N.J. — You’d expect that New Jersey head coach Brent Sutter would’ve watched the Boston-San Jose tilt Tuesday in an effort to pre-scout for his games against both teams this weekend.
And he did.
But despite a 5-2 Sharks win, he didn’t detect what the Bruins’ weakness was in the contest — or at least he wasn’t going to divulge it after his team’s morning skate at Prudential Center today. The Bruins and Devils will play tonight, while the Sharks will visit Jersey Sunday.
“A break here, a break there and things can change, momentum can change. I watched that game and I don’t think Boston played that bad,” said Sutter of the contest that featured Boston squandering a 2-1 lead by allowing four thrid-period goals. “And yet San Jose was able to get some goals at key times. Really, that was the difference, especially having a real strong third period offensively for them. (more…)
