BOSTON — The last time the Boston Bruins lost to the Washington Capitals before this Saturday’s defeat at Verizon Center, the Bruins bounced back and won their next 10 games.
The date was Dec. 10, and the Bruins failed to lose again until the calendar turned to 2009.
In a Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee at TD Banknorth Garden today, the Bruins are hoping a loss to the Caps brings more good fortune, as the St. Louis Blues pay a visit. The Blues sit at the bottom of the Western Conference, so they could be the perfect patsy for the Bruins to exploit and start on another lengthy run of success — just like Atlanta was last month.
