Sick Spooner won’t be strutting his stuff in search of WJC spot

It appears one of the Bruins’ top prospects won’t get a chance to shine on junior hockey’s biggest stage this winter.

Forward Ryan Spooner has been diagnosed with mononucleosis and will not be attending Hockey Canada’s World Junior Championship evaluation camp.

In the NHL, Tyler Seguin is the hottest young Bruins player on the ice. Down at the major junior level, however, that title belongs to Ryan Spooner.

Spooner today was named as the Player of the Week in the Ontario Hockey League.
