First, let’s start with the bit of history that was made when Edmonton selected Taylor Hall at No. 1 at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles and the Bruins picked Tyler Seguin No. 2.
The two players will now forever be linked and compared, but Seguin says that finishing runner-up didn’t leave him disappointed.
“I wasn’t surprised or disappointed. I think I just came in here really with an open mind,” he said after pulling on his Bruins sweater. “I didn’t have any expectations. I think everyone has their own opinion. We’ve seen it all year with whatever scouting service there may be. You know, Edmonton decided to select Hall first overall, and good for him. He deserves it. And I’m happy to be a Bruin.”
