NCAA prospect update: Florek’s fired up

There’s no denying that Justin Florek is on a roll.

The fifth-round pick of the Bruins from 2010 helped Northern Michigan reach No. 14 in the national polls with a win and a tie against Michigan by scoring a goal and assisting on three others. For his efforts, he was named the CCHA Offensive Player of the Week.

Hayes’ OT winner aids Eagles’ escape for 2nd straight Beanpot

BOSTON – Jimmy Hayes scored the game-winning goal at 6:00 of overtime to lift the Boston College Eagles to a wild 7-6 win over the Northeastern Huskies in the Beanpot championship game Monday at the TD Garden.

Top-ranked Boston College looks to defend its Beanpot title

College hockey takes over the TD Garden on the first two Mondays in Februaryevery year  with bragging rights on the line for Boston’s four major colleges.

This year’s Beanpot starts Monday night and concludes a week later.
