There was no denying his emotions as he emerged from the Boston Bruins’ TD Banknorth locker room to talk to the media about his first regular-season call-up to the NHL.
Winger Martins Karsums was a bit queasy.
“Obviously, it’s great. But at the same time, I’m really nervous right now. … (I have) butterflies in my stomach and nervousness,” admitted Karsums, who got the call to make the trek from Providence this afternoon from Bruins Director of Player Personnel Don Sweeney after Boston placed winger Marco Sturm on long-term injured reserve.
