It took just a couple shifts Saturday night in Montreal for Bruins coach Claude Julien to move Tyler Seguin from center back to wing.
Seguin says he wasn’t surprised the switch was made.

The Bruins practiced hard Sunday coming of their 2-1 loss in Montreal Saturday night.
Coach Claude Julien continued to change his line combinations after he made a first-period switch against the Habs. But there was still no combination featuring Czech Republic natives David Krejci and Jaromir Jagr.
For the fourth time this season, the Bruins and Montreal Canadiens played a one-goal game Saturday.
For the third time this season, the Bruins were the team that came up one goal short.
For the first time since Tuukka Rask led the Providence Bruins to the Eastern Conference finals in 2009, the P-Bruins are heading to the postseason after they topped Albany, 4-1, Friday night.

Daugavins
Kaspars Daugavins is nicknamed “Doggy” or “Dog Man” but he’s built like a hydrant.
It’s his build and his ability to play numerous roles more than his different monikers that made him appealing to Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli on the waiver wire last week.

Kelly
Center Chris Kelly took the next step toward a return to the Bruins’ lineup when he practiced with the team Friday at Ristuccia Arena.
Kelly’s previous step was taking the morning skate with the club Thursday. Kelly will travel with the team to Montreal, but coach Claude Julien would only say Kelly is day-to-day and wouldn’t commit to a game-time decision. Kelly has been out since March 11 with a broken tibia.

All it took was one shift back at center for Bruins forward Tyler Seguin to gain an even great appreciation for his longtime linemate Patrice Bergeron.

Jagr
Jaromir Jagr said he barely slept the last two nights after he was traded to the Bruins from Dallas Tuesday and then tried to get comfortable in his new city Wednesday.
After he scored the lone goal in the Bruins’ 1-0 win against New Jersey at TD Garden Thursday, Jagr could rest assured that he’s already made the type of impact the Bruins wanted from him.

Jagr
With his 43rd birthday just a couple months past in the spring of 2011, Mark Recchi famously told his Boston Bruins teammates that if the team ended its Stanley Cup championship drought he would retire.
That June, Recchi made good on his promise.

Kelly
Bruins coach Claude Julien today said it would be a matter of days rather than a week before center Chris Kelly’s return to the Boston lineup.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli had news to share on two injured centers Wednesday.
Patrice Bergeron, who left Tuesday night’s win against Ottawa in the second period, is out with a moderate concussion. Chris Kelly, who’s trying to return from a broken tibia, will be back “soon.”

Redden
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli said Wednesday that when the New York Rangers bought out Wade Redden’s contract in January, there were exploratory talks about the defenseman coming to Boston.
Instead Redden, who played for Ottawa during Chiarelli’s tenure as an assistant GM there, signed a one-year, $1 million deal with the St. Louis Blues.

It was another roller-coaster afternoon and evening for the 2013 Bruins Tuesday, which started with the trade for Jaromir Jagr.
By the end of the night the Bruins rode a 45-save effort by Anton Khudobin to a 3-2 win against Ottawa at TD Garden, and finished the game without the services of Patrice Bergeron.

Chiarelli
With the Boston Bruins ranked 12th in the NHL in goals per game entering action Tuesday night, and having scored two or fewer goals in six of its past seven games, general manager Peter Chiarelli did not halt his pursuit of offensive help after he was spurned by Jarome Iginla last week.
Boy how times have changed.
When the Bruins came out of the 2004-05 lockout and missed out on Mike Modano and Peter Forsberg in free agency, they turned around and signed Alexei Zhamnov.
