Who is Matt Kalman?
Matt Kalman, the founder/managing editor of TheBruinsBlog.net, has tirelessly covered the Boston Bruins beat since the 2005-06 season for various publications in Boston, including ESPNBoston.com, NESN.com and New England Hockey Journal. He continues to also contribute to NHL.com and CBSBostonSports.com in addition to other sites and publications.
He founded the TheBruinsBlog.net in November 2008. TheBruinsBlog.net is not a fan blog — it is a source of news, analysis and opinion about the Bruins provided objectively by an independent blogger.
Matt has worked as a sports writer for more than a decade after graduating from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism in 1997. He started his career as a general-assignment sports reporter in Winter Haven, Fla., before moving back to Boston to work as a senior editor at SchoolSports.com.
After aiding numerous beats at papers like the Boston Herald and Manchester Union-Leader, Matt settled in on the Bruins beat. He was the Boston chapter chairman for the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association (PHWA) from 2007-2010. His first book, “100 Things Bruins Fans Should Know or Do Before They Die” was published by Triumph Books in October 2010.
Through his continued dedication to the Bruins beat, Matt hopes to keep bringing NHL fans and Bruins backers the best Bruins-related content possible — from the locker room, the press box and beyond.

Matt,
I have been following your blog for awhile now and while I don’t love the new theme I do appreciate the content. I do want to let you know that there is a glitch, every now and then I try to access the full story and I am led to a page that is full of advertisements and not text. I’ll try to be more mindful of what link I select, title or more, to see if I can pin it down but I did want to let you know.
Thanks again for the great content,
Nick
